What you will be doing

As a pivotal member of the Technology Development (TD) Leadership team, you will develop, administer and monitor the TD investment process that supports the best new ideas for products with commercial potential, drawing from our diverse science capabilities. This will involve continuous improvement of the TD investment management framework to enable robust, transparent, timely and efficient TD decision-making, pipeline reporting and review. You will collaborate with internal stakeholders, in the Science, Business Development and Plant Varieties teams, to ensure the shaping of opportunities as they progress from science ideas to commercial launch or exit.

Leading investment process best practice, you will co-ordinate decision support, problem resolution and investment proposals, develop productive working relationships and oversee TD pipeline processes and resource planning.

What you will need

A Masters degree, ideally in science or business administration, finance and accounting, project management or a related discipline, a PhD would be preferable
Knowledge of the New Zealand science and innovation system and technology development in this environment.
Proven record of facilitation and collaboration with multiple stakeholders.
Preferably experience in managing and reporting on investment programmes or portfolios together with understanding of product development and standard design procedures
A comprehensive understanding and exposure to both science and business needs within a research environment.
