General/Business Unit Manager (CEO & General Management) We are a business that has grown quickly over the last couple of years because of our ability to provide great service to clients. We are now at that stage of business development where we need to consolidate our operations in preparation for the next phase of growth. So, this is an exciting time to join us and be a key part of a team that is involved in managing this business change.This pivotal role will assist the Managing Director to consolidate the current position to maximise return on investment, and develop and implement the business operational plans to create a sustainable growth phase of the business as customer demand and sales grow.As a newly created position, the role of General Manager Business Operations is critical to the success of the business and you will take overall responsibility for the day-to-day operational activities.This position has a real strategic management focus on improving business performance, you need to be someone that is never happy with the status quo and constantly seeking to make improvements in all areas.Key responsibilities include: Proven collaborative and clear operational leadership of diverse teams to deliver outcomes, and positive engagement and contributions across the organisation at all levels is non-negotiable.Superior relationship management skills, taking the lead across complex stakeholder engagements, gaining positive outcomes through influence rather than assumed authority.A natural affinity with the character that is at the core of the beliefs and values that permeate all involved with the business. This will be reflected in your attitude and actions, aligned to such.Setting up systems and processes that will consolidate the way things work and look at how scaling up can take place.  What you need to bring with you to the role  Be tertiary qualified, an engineering discipline would be a bonus but not essential8+ years’ experience demonstrating a proven track record of operational excellenceExperience developing clear and concise, detailed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), experience with experience setting up robust company processes and a history of owning them.Strong technical writing skillsProven communication skills and the ability to build strong working relationships.A background in working to tight deadlines within a pressurized environmentA strong understanding of Health & Safety requirementsBe un-phased by changeThis role will most definitely not suit someone who likes the status quo and expects their responsibilities to be finite and structured.
