We help central and local government agencies, utility providers and private clients across the country from our offices in Auckland, Hamilton, Hawkes Bay, Wellington, and Christchurch. Sectors we operate in include, roading, rail, housing, gas, electricity, three waters, education, recreation and more.
What you'll do:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and reliable Part-Time Accounts Administrator/Bookkeeper to support our busy finance team with accounts receivable (AR), accounts payable (AP), reporting, and general bookkeeping tasks. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys managing day-to-day financial operations while ensuring accuracy in financial records.
This is a 6-month fixed-term, part-time/casual position, working on average 10 hours per week. However, the workload fluctuates during the month, with busier periods during the first and last week of each month and during staff leave, so some flexibility to work additional hours during these times will be required.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Accounts Payable: Assist with coding and processing supplier invoices and staff expense claims.
Accounts Receivable: Handle the monthly processing of client invoices.
Credit Card Reconciliations: Follow up with credit card holders to collect receipts and ensure records are accurate.
Payroll Reporting
General Support: Providing assistance with other accounts and payroll-related tasks as needed.
Vehicle mileage logging.
Using Project Management software to extract invoicing information.
Specific client invoicing, reconciliations and reporting in Excel.
Reconciling between systems.
Managing company resources efficiently and effectively, particularly ensuring risks and costs are communicated, identified and positively managed.
Provide back up and assistance of other Accounts/Finance tasks when required.
The successful candidate will have:
A minimum of 3 years of accounting experience in a similar private/consultancy industry role.
A keen eye for detail and accuracy with data entry.
Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and meet deadlines.
Xero and Xero Add-ons Software experience.
Experience in the use of Dext invoicing and receipting platform.
Advanced Outlook, Word, and Excel skills.
Accounting standards, best practices and IRD compliance requirements.
