General/Business Unit Manager (CEO & General Management) Wellington-based CentrePort has a vital role in New Zealand as a major player in import and export supply chains, with a role in transport logistics that extends to in-land port operations across multiple locations. CentrePort is a gateway for shipping, and the cruise ship industry, and it plays a critical role in connecting the North and South Islands. CentrePort has an ambitious and aspirational regeneration plan that extends beyond infrastructure and is focused on delivering fit for purpose systems and technology that support customer’s needs, health and safety commitments and operational efficiency.Reporting to the CEO, the Head of Digital Strategy will be responsible for responding to the expected investment in technology required as part of the port’s regeneration. Key responsibilities will include; Leading the development and refinement of CentrePort’s digital and ICT strategyDeveloping an integrated and connected digital and ICT approach across the businessBeing a trusted advisor to the CEO, ELT, and the Board on digital and technology mattersBringing a proactive business partnering approach to drive consistency of practiceImplementing and continuously improving modern fit for purpose processes and procedures across governance, support, QA, security, change and contract management and information managementProviding connected and visible leadership to the ICT function (through ICT Operations Manager)Ensuring that ICT applications and infrastructure meet operational and health and safety requirements through proactively engaging across the business.We are looking for an experienced and exceptional individual who can play a pivotal role in providing strategic direction, leadership, and oversight of CentrePort’s digital and ICT business critical systems, functions, and people. First and foremost, you will have a strong people orientation with the ability to lead with clarity and engage across the business. You will be digitally savvy who can turn strategy into pragmatic customer focused initiatives that drive shareholder value, and quality customer, and operational outcomes. Excellent communication, relationship management and engagement skills will be required.Candidates will be digitally savvy but do not need to come from a traditional ICT background.
