One Staff New Plymouth is the leading supplier of temporary and permanent staff to a range of industrial-based clients in New Plymouth. We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client, a locally owned New Zealand company providing non-destructive testing, heat treatment, and statutory inspection services across the country. A fantastic opportunity has opened up for a Financial Controller to join their team, as the current Controller prepares for a well-earned retirement. This role extends beyond finance, incorporating aspects of HR, IT, and Health & Safety, making it an exciting and diverse opportunity for the right candidate.
Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Finance Management (Xero): Accounts payable & receivable, bank and cash management, income reconciliation, Time Clock reconciliation, annual accounts, GST, Tax calculations and management, monthly reporting
- HR & Compliance: Maintain staff training and induction matrices, review and maintain formal terms of trade, manage admin staff, prepare new staff contracts and oversee company secretarial duties
- Payroll (IMS): Run fortnightly payroll
- Health & Safety: Manage continued compliance with Totika pre-qualification, continual review of HSE systems
- Quality Management System: Manage compliance with ISO quality management requirements
- IT Management: Oversee and manage business IT systems.
The ideal candidate would ideally possess the following:
- Minimum 5 years' experience as a Financial Controller or come from a finance background.
- Proficiency in Office 365, Xero and IMS Payroll preferable but not essential.
- Strong advantage if you have experience with any of the following: Aroflo, Time Clock, NAS admin, Totika. However, handover period of several weeks is anticipated so not essential.
- Strong understanding of business operations and compliance.
- Excellent leadership and organisational skills.
- The ability to become a key player in the business, reporting direct to the General Manager.
