An excellent opportunity to join a new gastroenterology service currently staffed by three consultant gastroenterologists providing specialist services from a general hospital across a region of 200,000 people.

100% of time is dedicated to gastroenterology services with no on call commitment or requirement to practise general medicine.

Role Duties Preform regular routine ward rounds with junior medical staff and the multi-disciplinary team of the ward reviewing the progress, management and discharge plans of inpatients admitted under your care.

Be Available for telephone consultations from GPs, other hospitals, Junior medical staff and other services, During normal hours of work Preform regular outpatient clinics and endoscopy procedures at hospital sites around the region Participate in the provision of the weekly/ fortnightly/ monthly clinical meetings with medical staff.

Participate in medical student and junior doctor education.

Role Requirements To be successful in your application for this opportunity as the consultant gastroenterologist, we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history: A degree in medicine - MBBS, MBCh B, MD FRACP or equivalent qualification in general medicine and gastroenterology Medical Council of New Zealand vocational registration or eligibility for this in the scope of general medicine Experience in the subspecialty area of Gastroenterology, Inflammatory bowel disease, Endoscopy -Colonoscopy & OGD including therapeutic OGD e.g.
