We are currently looking for a:

General Practitioner | Part Time or Full Time | Based in Thames and/or Paeroa, with flexibility to work across our Whānau Health Centres located in Te Aroha, Coromandel and Whitianga.

The General Practitioner is responsible for providing primary care clinical support, patient interventions and treatment within a kaupapa Māori frame work. As part of the general practice team he/she will work within their scope of practice and be responsible for providing culturally appropriate and individual holistic care to whānau that addresses health needs and promotes wellness. The role will cover delivery of clinical services at Te Korowai Hauora o Hauraki clinics as agreed and negotiated.

Responsible to the Clinical Services Manager and an integral part of the Ohu Hauora, this position is also responsible for ensuring work carried out supports best practice, meets sector standards and whānau needs, respecting the rights and confidentiality of whānau at all times; ensuring services are delivered professionally and of the highest quality to meet funder and contract requirements. 

Key competencies for this position include:
Registration as a Medical Practitioner in New Zealand with current APC.
Vocational registration or practical experience as a General Practitioner.
Makes clear medical decisions and takes ownership of these, following up on problems to ensure they are resolved.
Work as part of a clinical team, ensuring whānau needs are met.
Experience with Medtech Evolution Practice Management System an advantage.
We need someone who is highly engaged and passionate about working with our whānau in a kaupapa Māori environment. The successful candidate will need to be committed to achieving health equity and driving quality improvement to ensure better health outcomes.
