Group Manager - Environmental Health, Border and Compliance - Health Protection - NPHS at Te Whatu Ora, All Locations Contribute to transforming the future of public health in this key leadershiprole Location: Flexible Permanent, Full-Time Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is firmly grounded in the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and is committed to building a health system that serves all New Zealanders About the Role As a Group Manager, Environmental Health, Border and Compliance in our Health Protection team you can play a pivotal role in providing the strategic oversight on the deliverables within each team and connect to wider NPHS and Health NZ strategy and delivery. This permanent, full-time, nationally located role provides leadership, management and delivery of the Environmental Health, Border and Compliance functions to enable the delivery of NPHS's strategic agenda working toward Pae Ora. You will lead and support the programmes of work across Protection to deliver on the Governments priorities and Te Pae Tata. You will collaborate with other senior leaders within the Directorate and across the National Public Health Service, as well as Health NZ's colleagues and stakeholders across government to implement, influence and develop new ways of working. About the Team/Service/ Location The National Public Health Service (NPHS) within Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora, work towards Pae Ora (healthy futures) for all by engaging with the wider determinants that impact people's health, focusing on oranga/wellbeing, prevention, protection, and population-level intervention. We are connected across boundaries to deliver public health services that are nationally planned, regionally delivered and locally tailored. About you You are a strong, strategic leader who is confident operating at a senior level, and passionate about delivering positive outcomes. You are a people leader with relevant experience in public health protection programmes and project development, working in complex systems, and cross-sector working. You will have a strong systems view and a collaborative mindset, you bring energy, expertise and innovation to everything you do You can lead change, encourage innovation, and provide capability development and quality improvement across a system, using sound judgement to develop options and provide advice. You are experienced engaging with key stakeholders to ensure the voice of those with greatest need is well represented. Skills and Experience You will bring: A relevant graduate and post-graduate qualification in an area relevant to Public Heath, or comparable experience A comprehensive understanding of the impact of Public Health, particularly Protection, on community outcomes Significant experience in a senior level position with extensive business and people management experience Significant experience delivering on programmes of work in a complex environment Advanced programme and project management capability, balancing hands-on delivery and strategic oversight A proven track record of driving innovation, agility, and continuous improvement in fast-paced environments Working for Health New Zealand Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
