If you have a passion to lead and advance education and children in Mangere East, Auckland, then this Head Teacher position is the job for you.
Proven experience in ECE teaching and supervisory experience is essential, with a high level of relationship management skills to deal with parents and lead a professional team of ECE educators. Full teacher registration is required. The role entails a mix of hands-on teaching and supervisory duties, with a focus on the delivery of positive outcomes for up to 50 children.
You will be able to promote a safe and healthy environment for children and staff, and strive to lead teachers capable of delivering curriculum experiences.
You must be comfortable in all aspects of centre operations, including: administration, staff recruitment, teacher performance, rostering, parent and stakeholder relationships, compliance, curriculum planning & assessment, child safety, policies & procedures, and evaluation and self-review. You will therefore have a sound working understanding in the ECE Regulations and ERO requirements.
You will be able to actively lead our service in delivering quality learning outcomes that meet school and community aspirations for quality 21st century learning.
You must:
Be registered with the NZ Education Council and hold a current Teaching Practicing Certificate
Live within a reasonable distance from the centre
Be a patient, supportive, kind and nurturing person
Be able to work with diverse cultures
Have effective communication skills in English
Be passionate about children – their safety and development
