This is a secondary base hospital providing a wide range of services including emergency department (ED), medical specialists, paediatrics and psychiatry. The ideal candidate is responsible for conducting psychiatric assessments and evaluations of patients and must have the ability to provide quality care within the hospital. For this position within the psychiatry department, candidates are required to have a doctorate degree in psychiatry. This full-time position offers a competitive salary range of $85,000 to $120,000 per year. Responsibilities for psychiatry registrar: The candidate designs and executes personalized treatment strategies for individuals experiencing mental health challenges. Delivers crisis intervention and support to patients within acute psychiatric environments. Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated patient care. Monitors patients' progress and adapts treatment plans as necessary. Maintains accurate medical records and documentation. Qualifications for psychiatry registrar: Completion of a medical degree from a recognized institution. Registration as a medical practitioner with the Medical Council of New Zealand. Holds relevant postgraduate qualifications or a certificate in psychiatry. Clinical experience in psychiatry gained through internships, residencies, or previous work experience.
