Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity The Department of Critical Care Medicine is a 26 bedded general adult intensive care unit. We provide critical and high dependency care for our national and regional specialties, including major trauma, neurosurgery, vascular, liver and kidney transplants, ORL, and upper GI surgery, as well as support for other specialties in a major tertiary hospital.
This is an exciting nursing leadership role for highly motivated, passionate experienced ICU nurses to lead the day-to-day management of specialised patient care and support and develop their own team.
Our Clinical Charge Nurses sit within our Senior Leadership team, supporting the development and direction of the unit.
The DCCM consists of 6 high dependency and 20 intensive care beds, for patients 15 years and above.
You will be working closely with our Nurse Unit Manager, Education team, Senior Medical Officers and expanded Allied Health team to deliver effective and high quality patient care.
You will collaborate with multiple senior team members for the day-to-day co-ordination of elective and acute patient workload, enjoy organising people and resources while achieving demanding goals. For further details, please refer to the position description .
Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills To apply for this role you must have: NZ Nursing Registration and a current annual practicing certificate A commitment to bi-culturalism in relation to the Treaty of Waitangi Advanced clinical practice knowledge – at least 3 recent years working within an Intensive Care environment with highly proficient skills in critical care nursing practice.
Post graduate ICU qualification preferred Demonstrated leadership experience at this level - ability to provide direction, support, coaching and address performance issues Commitment to providing excellent care for patients and staff Strong accountability for resource management Demonstrated expertise in setting standards and managing practice to achieve these Ko wai mātou | Our Organisation We are Te Whatu Ora Te Toka Tumai Auckland.
