Mental Health Professional - Co Response Team at Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand Capital, Coast & Hutt Valley, Kenepuru Hospital/Porirua Nau mai, haere m ai ki Te Whatu Ora - Capital, Coast & Hutt Valley District Location: Wellington Regional Hospital/Kenepuru Hospital Service: Adult Sector Contract: Permanent part time 0.8FTE - rotating and rostered shifts Salary: $89,708- $106,016 based on skills or experience and professional accreditation - pro rata for part time. This role provides triage (following assessment and formulation of the situation) and advice to other areas of the police and ambulance service who may also be attending a police officer call out. This role will work alongside local mental health services in developing service wide response plans that will enable other agencies to be informed how best to support and individual and their support persons when they contact emergency services. The RN will respond to the changing needs of the Wellington and Hutt District, performing other tasks as required. The RN is expected to contribute to the implementation of District and nursing goals and values, and to promote Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand Capital, Coast and Hutt Valley as a center of excellence for nursing practice. There is an expectation to provide consultation and training across multiple agencies The current CRT model in the Wellington district has two functions with the emergency call response via 111 as the main priority. The team also has an important role in providing consultation/advice about tangata whaiora and whanau who need a more intensive response and present frequently to multiple agencies (including Emergency Departments, NZ Police, and other services in the community). The current CRT staffing model is: 1 Mental Health Lead NZ Police Wellington District Prevention Group who provides daily oversight of day-to-day operations 2 NZ Police Senior Sergeants 2 senior registered mental health professionals employed by MHAIDS (1 registered mental health nurse and an occupational therapist) 1 Wellington Free Ambulance senior paramedic Hours of operation are: Monday - Thursday 0800 hours to 1800 hours Fridays 1000 hours to 2000 hours Hold a desire to work in collaboration with Ambulance and Police Possess a wide knowledge of services available across the region and different pathways to access Flexible approach to work and an ability to work across multiple agencies whilst maintaining a client centric approach Here at Capital, Coast & Hutt Valley District we embrace diversity and welcome applications from all people, including all gender identities, ages, ethnicity, sexual orientations, disability and religions.
