Job Description We are seeking a motivated and experienced Industrial Electrician to join our maintenance team at our Wairoa plant.
In this pivotal role, you will be the backbone of our daily operations, ensuring our high‐tech processing machinery and site infrastructure operate at peak performance to minimize downtime.
Responsibilities Fault finding & repair—rapidly diagnosing and repairing faults on processing machinery, conveyors, packaging lines, and refrigeration systems.
Preventative maintenance—executing scheduled maintenance to prevent breakdowns before they happen.
PLC & automation—working with PLCs, VSDs, and automated control systems to optimize plant efficiency.
Installations—assisting with the installation and commissioning of new plant equipment.
Safety compliance—adhering strictly to health & safety protocols and electrical standards.
Qualifications Proactive approach that ensures minimal downtime in production departments.
Strong time‐management skills to prioritise projects when required.
Organisational skills and discipline for daily routine maintenance.
Commitment to upholding health and safety standards.
Strong problem‐solving skills.
Appropriate qualifications (NZQF Level 4 or recognised equivalent).
Current electrical practising licence (full registration or limited licence).
Knowledge of industrial communication protocols such as Ethernet/IP, Modbus RTU, and TCP/IP.
PLC, HMI, and programming experience across platforms (Allen Bradley, Schneider).
Ignition SCADA programming experience.
Will consider applicants holding a Limited cert issued by the EWRB.
Review of "Registration Class Overseas Experience" pathway to gain full registration, including 8000 hours or 4 years' experience, required.
Legal right to work in New Zealand.
