We have a 12-month fixed term/secondment to join our team as a
Senior Māori Health Services Advisor. You will be responsible for supporting the ongoing delivery of services and programmes that will better deliver on Māori customer needs. This role will focus on managing the operational functions of the rongoā service, supporting a portfolio of work to improve Māori health, address equity issues for Māori, and deliver improved outcomes for Māori.
This role involves building strong relationships with providers, managing provider and service performance, and promoting Māori health services internally and externally. It is a 12-month secondment, based in either the Bay of Plenty or Hamilton.
Key responsibilities include:
Supporting the Māori Health Manager and all tasks related to the Rongoā service objectives.
Providing senior operational leadership for the Rongoā Māori service.
Offering training, mentorship, peer support, and technical expertise as the Māori Health Advisors' subject matter expert.
Engaging with existing providers to understand equity issues for Māori and supporting service evolution to include Māori health choices and Kaupapa Māori services.
Overseeing all Māori registrations, complaints, and peer reviews related to rongoā Māori.
Providing Māori health knowledge to ACC teams for developing Māori health services.
Qualifications and experience:
Relevant tertiary qualification and experience in Māori health.
Experience in service commissioning.
Knowledge of whānau-centred approaches, programmes, and delivery.
Strong knowledge of Te Reo and tikanga, Māori culture, values, and social systems, including iwi networks and the Māori/Iwi health sector.
Excellent communication skills for diverse audiences.
Understanding of Te Ao Māori measurement and outcome frameworks.
Commitment to the Treaty of Waitangi.
Collaborative skills to enhance Māori service provision within ACC.
Understanding of Māori data sovereignty and protection of data rights.
Experience in Client Recovery/Service Delivery is desirable.

Salary ranges from $101,287 to $119,161 depending on experience, plus 9% superannuation.
