**About the Role**As a Public Health Nurse, you will deliver public health nursing services across the community.
Public health nursing includes assessment of population health, attention to the multiple determinants of health, an emphasis on primary prevention, and continued commitment to best evidence based public health nursing practice.
Previous Ear Health/Nursing related experience will be beneficial.
This is a permanent full-time role.
**About the Team/Service/ Location**Our public health nursing team is part of the National Public Health Service (NPHS) within Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora, and work towards Pae Ora (healthy futures for all) by engaging with the wider determinants that impact people's health, focusing on oranga/wellbeing, prevention, protection, and population-level intervention.
We are connected across boundaries to deliver public health services that are nationally planned, regionally delivered and locally tailored.
**About you**As a successful candidate, you will show and understand the importance of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and are skilled in applying its principles effectively in your role.
You build and maintain positive relationships at all levels and models an agile approach –try new approaches, learn quickly, adapt fast.
You are able to utilise advanced nursing knowledge and skills through reflective practice, critical thinking and professional judgement to provide competent care and advice while working to top of scope.
* Current registration with Nursing Council of New Zealand as a Registered Nurse* Holds a current Annual Practising Certificate* An ongoing commitment to professional development* A commitment to achieving equitable outcomes for underserved whanau and communities* Be prepared to work towards, or already, an authorised vaccinator (3 years+) and / or whole of life authorised vaccinator, as required for the role* Demonstrated competence in application of Maori health models to Nursing practice* Demonstrated ability to work within a multidisciplinary team environment* Demonstrated time management skills* Proven experience using Patient Management Systems* An eye for detail and commitment for continuous quality improvement* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills* Full Drivers Licence and be confident driving a motor home sized vehicle (Heavy Traffic Licence not needed) Be able to drive a manual vehicle* Ear Health/Nursing related experience**Working at Health New Zealand**Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
