We're looking for a Team Leader Knowledge - Water Ecosystems to join our Knowledge business unit in the Knowledge and Insights team. This role is permanent and can be based in either our central Wellington or new Masterton office. The Knowledge team's role is to identify and produce the specialist knowledge and analysis that the Environment Group needs to better understand our environment and inform our strategy, planning and implementation. About the role: As Team Leader Knowledge Water Ecosystems, you will lead a team covering scientific knowledge areas including hydrology, groundwater, water quality and ecology. You will report to the Manager Knowledge within the Knowledge and Insights function and work closely with other leaders and teams in the Knowledge and Insights, Strategy, Policy and Regulation, Catchment and Delivery functions. The Knowledge team also collaborates with others producing knowledge elsewhere in New Zealand and internationally. You and your team will be actively involved in the work that we are doing to build our knowledge frameworks and practices and to embed a mātauranga Māori framework into all aspects of the Environment Group's work. Skills and experience required: A track record in coaching and managing a high performing multi-disciplinary team of specialists through change while ensuring service delivery levels are maintained or enhanced. Active interest in new approaches to working across different knowledge systems (mātauranga Māori, biophysical and social sciences). Experience in creating space for mātauranga Māori frameworks within a knowledge-based work programme, including the development of working partnerships with mana whenua and the team. Ability to engage, plan and work with multiple stakeholders, sometimes with conflicting priorities, to determine their needs, contributions, and priorities. An understanding of how to bring about positive cultural change at a team level. Ability to work in a collaborative manner to solve complex problems demonstrating innovation, open-mindedness, and an ability to get to agreement and a way forward. Tertiary study in, and ideally a qualification in a relevant discipline (e.g. Biophysical sciences, mātauranga Māori).
