Your key areas of focus will include: Accountable for the health, vitality, performance, and strategic direction, including profitability and product performance, of the Suncorp NZ Commercial Motor business (excl Rural) Lead, research, develop, articulate, and maintain a positive and compelling vision of future and strategic goals for Commercial Motor Underwriting Support developing and delivering value propositions that address customer 'Mobility' needs across all portfolios and customer segments and assist in our Net Zero Transition Programme development and implementation. To drive value for our Commercial Motor customers and valued business partners, maximise sustainable profits and generate quality growth. Oversee and drive the identification of new opportunities to enhance the customer experience, simplify business process and create value for our customers, business partners and shareholders. Helping create clear lines of accountability for Commercial Motor profitability and performance to ensure market commitments are met. Actively support, encourage, and embed collegiate ways of working amongst like disciplines across Suncorp NZ to leverage knowledge and capability to maximise business outcomes. Embed a strong performance and risk management culture. Lead and develop the capability of team members and through effective coaching, mentoring, professional development and where required, performance management Set and monitor all Commercial Motor underwriting licences, rules, delegations of authority and quality assurance processes in accordance with the Commercial Motor risk appetite, while ensuring that underwriting decisions can be made as close to the customer as possible. Ensure appropriate and effective delivery of underwriting and technical training and support material to underwriting licence holders, and intermediaries where required What you'll need to succeed: Qualifications - Tertiary and/or relevant industry qualifications Experience - At least 5 years commercial motor market or underwriting experience in a variety of senior roles Strong understanding of the NZ commercial motor sector Exemplary customer focus Strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to effectively resolve conflict. Leadership, change and innovation management skills, consultation, influencing and negotiation capability. The ability to provide sound strategic advice and provide mentoring/coaching to others.
