The Opportunity
Our Environmental Implementation team at the Otago Regional Council is looking for a Team Leader Integrated Catchment Management to join the team on full-time basis (37.5 hrs per week) in our busy Dunedin office.
The purpose of this role is delivering the Integrated Catchment Management (ICM) work programme. This includes developing the strategic and operational direction for the ICM programme within the Environmental Implementation Team at the Otago Regional Council (ORC).
As a Team Leader Integrated Catchment Management, you will be responsible for:
Coaching, mentoring, supporting and enabling staff to achieve agreed outcomes, and grow and develop in their roles
Working actively across ORC to inform the ICM work programme and Catchment Action Plans priorities, scope and on the ground delivery of actions
Supporting the Manager Environmental Implementation in fostering iwi partnerships and runaka engagement
Contributing to the Environmental Implementation leadership group, supporting a culture of staff enablement, collaboration and excellence
Contributing to the development of functional strategy to support the Environmental Implementation team connection to strategy work

About You
Our ideal candidate will have:
A tertiary qualification in any of the following or related fields; Environmental Management, Resource planning, Catchment studies and Geography
A Full NZ Drivers licence
A minimum of 10 years' experience in roles related to environmental management and catchment planning with relevant experience in biodiversity or ecosystem restoration
A minimum of 5 years' experience leading a team with diverse functions
Advanced understanding of integrated catchment management
Excellent analytical, quantitative and presentation skills
