The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Monitoring, Enforcement and Environmental Officer. This role could also suit a Graduate looking to further their career in this space. 

As Monitoring, Enforcement and Environmental Officer, you will undertake monitoring of land use resource consents and Environmental Management aspects of subdivision consents. You will review complaints received by the community and make sound decisions to determine compliance with consent conditions, Queenstown Lakes District Plan, Bylaws and relevant legislative requirements in accordance with the QLDC Enforcement Strategy. 

About You

The successful candidate for the position will hold:

Tertiary qualifications in planning, resource management or related discipline
Eligibility for membership of the New Zealand Planning Institute or equivalent is desirable
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in resource management, enforcement or local government
Sound knowledge of related legislation and legal procedures
Competency in a range of desktop applications including Microsoft Office
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to confidently express a position or point of view
Proven ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with customers and gain their trust and respect
Demonstrated planning and organisational skills, with an excellent eye for detail
A highly motivated, achievement-oriented and innovative approach
Full New Zealand driver’s licence
