The Spaces & Places Manager role is an engaging mix of relationships and delivery oversight. Internally, you are needed to provide leadership and strategic direction for our spaces and places activity managers. Externally, you will work with the District Manager to create a strong relationship between service delivery and community boards. The overall portfolio is diverse, covering parks, playgrounds and open spaces, recreation facilities, cemeteries, libraries, aquatics, coastal facilities, public conveniences, airfields, and halls. This breadth of services plays an important role in placemaking in our district, and the variety keeps life interesting and satisfying. You will directly lead three activity managers, with a team of approximately 40 passionate souls in your purview. About you We are looking for an experienced leader who is naturally collaborative, can look to the future and bring people along on the journey. Ideally, you will have: A tertiary level qualification in any of the relevant activities Demonstrated experience in a leadership role Broad experience in the management of community infrastructure and services Strong strategic ability and political acumen A working knowledge of asset management approaches Strong experience and knowledge of the spaces that communities use Good understanding of relevant legislation Impressive track record and great references.
