At least one year of relevant work experience, along with a Certificate IV in Kitchen Management or Commercial Cookery, is required.
Job Description
• Preparing, cooking, and presenting dishes for a full-service restaurant in accordance with established recipes and service standards
• Monitoring food quality, portion control, and presentation during all stages of preparation and service
• Maintaining consistency in portion control and presentation
• Operating and regulating kitchen equipment, including ovens and grills, to ensure correct cooking temperatures
• Seasoning, plating, and finishing dishes with appropriate sauces, garnishes, and accompaniments
• Preparing meals to meet special dietary requirements and customer requests
• Managing storage, rotation, and labelling of food items
• Ensuring safe storage of food in temperature-controlled facilities in line with food safety requirements
• Monitoring stock levels and minimising food wastage
• Assisting with menu planning, food preparation levels, and service coordination
