Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity
In this role, you will provide legal support across various AT functions as a trusted business partner.
As a key member of our highly respected, experienced, and collegial legal team, you will have the autonomy to manage your own matters while also having access to support when needed. Our open and agile environment will allow you to build relationships and engage with key decision-makers, including members of the executive team.
Your primary responsibilities will include advising on the commercial, risk allocation and regulatory aspects of a wide range of transport system relationships, contractual arrangements and service or project delivery structures.
Additionally, you will have the chance to be involved in a broader spectrum of legal work, including public law issues, intellectual property, regulatory, compliance, governance, and more.
Nā tāu rourou | What will you bring?
Experience providing legal advice across a broad range of areas relevant to the activities of a large, complex service delivery organisation, underpinned by a solid foundation in commercial/business law related matters and strong contractual drafting skills.
Exposure to infrastructure, construction, property related legal work, and/or complex procurement matters would be highly regarded as would a good understanding of the local government or public sector legal environment.
A minimum of 8 years post qualification experience in private practice or in-house.
Good commercial acumen, professionalism, integrity and a solution focused style.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact with a wide variety of people.
Strong leadership skills and a proven track record of leading and influencing across a range of functional teams.
Admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand with an NZ practising certificate.
