Access Community Health l Uru Ātea stands as a leading provider of home-based healthcare and support in New Zealand. We are a 4,000 person-strong team in an organisation which has been at the forefront of community health since the 1920s. Our nurses and Kaiāwhina | Support Workers provide services to more than 20,000 people. And we listen to each one of them, because we genuinely care. 'A better day, every day'
Each Tangata will have individual care requirements, and you will support them with all elements of daily living. No qualifications or prior experience are required, as we provide comprehensive training to ensure all Kaiāwhina I Support Workers are equipped with the skills and knowledge they need.
Our Kaiāwhina Skills Framework training takes place during your first two weeks of employment and is a mixture of practical training, online self-directed learning, and working with a buddy trainer.
We cover the basics of support including:
Infection prevention control
Moving and Handling
Medication management
Practical tasks including personal cares, compression therapy, meal preparation etc.

Be intuitive and responsive to people's feelings and needs
Own a smartphone
The right to work in New Zealand
Full/restricted driver's license
Be available to work either Saturday or Sunday every week
$1.00 per hour extra in your pay for weekend work!
