This role will be working in Te Whare Maiangiangi, our Adult Inpatient Unit at Tauranga hospital, where our clients are aged 18 - 65. The team consists of experienced multi-disciplines, including nurses, social workers, occupational therapists, psychologists, psychiatrists, pharmacists, physiotherapists, and Pou Kokiri cultural advisor.
The role is to ensure clinically and culturally safe delivery of care to our patients - we are passionate about improving health outcomes for people entering our unit. You will also be championing and supporting Toi Ora knowledge and competence within the workforce.
This is a permanent, full-time position; however, we have flexible FTE and are open to applications from candidates looking for 0.8 – 1.0 FTE (32 - 40 hours per week).
To be successful in this role you will be:
A Nēhi Kaupapa Māori (Registered Nurse), preferably with a minimum of 1 year's nursing experience to join our Mental Health Inpatient team.
Mental Health and/or kaupapa Māori nursing experience an advantage.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a commitment to te reo me ona tikanga.
Driven to apply Te Aō Māori views, concepts, knowledge, and practices in your work.
Demonstrates, exudes, and embeds behaviours consistent with He Pou Oranga Tāngata Whenua and Te Whatu Ora Hauora a Toi Bay of Plenty Manaakitanga values.
