What You'll Do:
As a

Land Transport Officer - Cadet , you'll be hands-on in ensuring Wairoa's roads and footpaths remain safe and well-maintained. You'll assist with inspecting roads, supporting transport projects, and helping to manage essential maintenance work. From reviewing traffic management plans to coordinating road closures, you'll play a key role in keeping the community moving. You'll also gain experience working with contractors, monitoring project progress, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
What You'll Need to Succeed:
A

willingness to learn

and take direction in a fast-paced environment.
Strong

problem-solving skills

and an interest in infrastructure and transport.
Basic

computer skills , including experience with Microsoft Office.
NCEA Level 3 , with strengths in Maths and Science.
A

NZ Restricted Driver's Licence

(or ability to obtain one).
