About The Role This is a full-time Maintenance Electrician opportunity based at our RX Plastics site in Ashburton.
You will be responsible for installing, maintaining, inspecting, and improving electrical systems and components, including lighting, wiring, fuses, and control systems.
The role involves testing and diagnosing electrical faults while ensuring all work is completed in compliance with relevant electrical codes, blueprints, and industry standards.
What will you do? Develop, maintain, and continuously improve a preventive maintenance program to maximise equipment reliability and minimise downtime.
Respond promptly to electrical breakdowns, diagnose root causes, and implement corrective and preventative solutions.
Work closely with the Electrical Team Leader to ensure critical spare parts are identified, stocked, and readily available.
Maintain accurate records by backing up PLC programs, keeping electrical drawings up to date, and coordinating external or additional maintenance support when required.
Proactively identify Health & Safety risks and hazards, collaborating with all stakeholders to maintain a safe working environment.
Regularly review equipment performance with the Electrical Team Leader, adjust maintenance strategies as needed, and work with the broader maintenance team to improve reliability and efficiency.
About You A recognised Electrical Trade Certificate, along with Advanced Trade Certificates A & B (essential).
Advanced Trade Electrical C & D / NZCE Electrical or an equivalent qualification is preferred.
A current Practising Licence is essential.
At least 5 years' experience in industrial electrical maintenance, with solid hands‐on knowledge of maintaining electrical equipment and working with closed‐loop control systems, particularly PID control.
Strong capability with PLC systems, ideally Omron and/or Siemens, along with good analytical and fault‐finding skills.
A good understanding of Health & Safety requirements, with a practical, safety‐first approach to your work.
