Carter Holt Harvey (CHH) are seeking someone who will partner with our General Managerfor Plywood, and our Site Manager at our Distribution/Treatment operation, basedat the Kinleith Estate, Tokoroa. This is a Monday to Friday role, with some flexibilityrequired as the Plywood mill is operational 24/7.

Close to Rotorua, Taupo and surrounding central regions, our Tokoroa site is in a prime location for those looking to make the most of ournatural paradise of lakes, forests and mountains. Whether you enjoy mountain biking, fishing, golfing or skiing, thisis the perfect gateway.

With your wealth of manufacturing industry background and your EHSR experience,you’ll add value across the EHSR portfolio. Offering a diverse and interestingmix, including some people leadership, responsibilities include:

  • Actively engaging with the workforce to ultimately increase thelevel of safety awareness
  • Identify, understand and effectively manage risks
  • Maintain and coordinate safety management systems, includingcompliance activities, contractor management, SOP development andinvestigations
  • Provide leadership to ensure completion of the annual routine EHSRactivities and the improvement plans for both sites
  • Implement H&S plans and projects
  • Building safety leadership and capability across all levels
  • Identify training needs and delivering training plans
  • Lead two small support teams
  • Provide support to the National EHSR Manager in delivery ofcompany-wide initiatives

    • You will bring to this role:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Occupational Health &Safety, including sound knowledge of NZ health and safety legislation
  • Proven ability to manage and train, with a minimum of 5 years’experience as an Advisor
  • Hands on EHSR experience in amanufacturing environment
  • Computer literacy; fluent in all things MS Office and preferably Risk Manager
  • Be highly motivated, organised to juggle multipletasks, with a strong attention to detail
  • Ability to gain buy-in at all levels of business and buildpositive relationships
  • Ability to build safety leadership capabilities
