Downer Rail & Transit Systems (RTS) , a leading provider of rail and transport asset management services across Australia has an exciting opportunity for a National Operations Excellence Manager to join our team and support our growth objectives.The National Operations Excellence Manager role will report directly to the RTS Head of Operations. You will be responsible for planning, directing, and overseeing the transformation of Operations through strategies to achieve Operation Excellence through Business Process Standardisation across the RTS Sites and Delivery of Operation Efficiency on the existing projects through continuous improvement on project delivery performance across a broad range of scopes. The Operations Excellence Manager will lead the RTS Operational Process Standardisation across the organisation and set the operational standards for processes within the function and across the sites. Key Responsibilities Implement Operation Excellent Strategy in accordance with the RTS plan and customer needIdentify and develop continuous improvement initiatives to drive safety, productivity/cost, quality, and deliveryDrive continuous improvement to deliver Process Standardisation to strengthen operation’s project execution and controlLead the Change Management culture to deliver the RTS Operation Excellent transformation through its peopleProvide support to the site’s Operations Improvement Manager to meet the RTS Site’s specific targetsAdapt and share best practices between site teams and other Downer sitesLead Operation Excellent Governance, performance and meeting with all site GM and functionsEnsure the alignment of the current strategy and initiatives to satisfy the need of the Major Project About you A confident, resilient self-starter who constantly challenges and encourages others to value changeExperience in and commitment to performance management, including performance reviews and feedbackExtensive rollingstock operation and heavy machinery/manufacturing experience across various functionsUnderstanding and experience in the application of continuous improvement tools as well as training and change management experienceBachelor’s degree in Engineering would be desirable.Knowledgeable in CI principles, Six Sigma (black belt or master black bell) and Lean Manufacturing qualification or equivalent would be desirable.Excellent practical understanding of the Operation Management Process.Understanding of Enterprise Resource Management (ERP) systems and process.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to provide adequate support to managementHighly developed oral and written communication skills, including conducting detailed investigations and written reports What we offer Highly supportive, team orientated organisation A strong commitment to Zero Harm environment for all our employees and visitors An opportunity to make an impact with a growing and forward-thinking companyFull time permanent opportunity with an excellent remuneration package on offerDowner is dedicated to nurturing our people personally and professionally through skills development, competitive benefits, career pathways and fostering a proudly diverse and supportive workplace culture.We foster a diverse and inclusive workplace that facilitates opportunity and respect.
