Are you ready to make a significant impact in the field of medical physics? Auckland Radiation Oncology (ARO) is seeking a motivated and conscientious individual to join our friendly and supportive medical physics team here in beautiful Aotearoa New Zealand.
This new physics role has been created to support the expansion of ARO to a satellite centre in Auckland’s North Shore, due to open in 2025. We encourage applications from physicists with a range of experience, from those who may have recently completed registration to those with several years’ experience. You would play a key role in delivering advanced radiation oncology care to the people of New Zealand and the Pacific Islands using the latest technology.
As the only Cyberknife (S7) centre in New Zealand, ARO offers SRS and SABR treatments for prostate, brain, spine, liver, and pancreatic cancer.
We have two Elekta Versa HD linacs, both soon to be equipped with Elekta’s new Iris high-definition, AI-enhanced CBCT imaging technology.
Treatment planning on our linacs and Cyberknife is performed using the Ray Station TPS.
CT scanning is performed using our Canon Acquilion LB scanner.
Sun Nuclear Dose CHECK is used for secondary MU calculations.
You will be joining a team of six physicists and one technician. Duties include treatment plan checking, patient-specific QA, routine linac QA, and the commissioning of new technologies, with significant time allocated to ongoing service development. We are supportive of people’s career development, and you would be encouraged to take ownership of current and future aspects of the service, as aligned with your own interests and the needs of the organisation.
To apply, you should possess at least an MSc in Medical Physics and be certified with the Australasian College of Physical Scientists & Engineers in Medicine (ACPSEM) or an internationally recognised equivalent (ABR, CCPM, HCPC).
