This means no matter what business unit you’re in, or stage of life you’re at, there’s a good chance we’ve got something to suit.About the opportunityAs a Sensory Laboratory Technician, you will primarily be responsible for preparing samples for sensory analysis and with your keen eye for detail and good organisational skills, you’ll provide accurate and timely technical support to the wider team.Contributing to the tactical planning and understanding the theoretical background to technical delivery, you will leverage your knowledge of how diverse our clients/customers apply the work provided and will ensure delivery of the technical function is aligned with these specific needs.In addition to the above, you will also contribute to the maintenance of our health and safety and food safety systems, maintenance of laboratory/plant facilities with minimal supervision as you adhere to all the relevant regulatory requirements.To note, we are also open to this role being performed in a full or parttime capacity however due to being on your feet for the entire day, comfortability standing for long periods of time is essential.About youWhile this is an entry level position, we are looking for someone who is switched-on, practical and eager to learn. You will need:A passion for science (an NCEA Qualification in Science will be helpful)Background in laboratory work, quality assurance, food handling, dairy manufacturing or analytical laboratory work is desiredAn understanding of basic food safetyThe ability to work as a productive team member to deliver a high volume of workThe ability to think on your feetMeticulous attention to tidiness in work operationsMethodical work ethic with strong attention to detailExcellent time management skillsGood communications skills, both written and verbalFonterra provides opportunities for individuals who bring passion to perform and are motivated to succeed.
