Job Description:
Onsite: This role is categorized as onsite, requiring the successful candidate to report to Concord, NC on a full-time basis.
The Role
GM Motorsports supports racing in series such as NASCAR, Indy Car, IMSA, WEC, and Formula 1. We seek a motivated CAD Engineer to design and develop racecar components from concept to production, including parts design, optimization via finite-element analysis, and participation in design reviews. Support to end users or customers post-delivery may also be required.
What You'll Do
Use Catia experience and analytical skills for parts design
Collaborate with race program teams with a client-focused approach
Share knowledge and learn in a fast-paced environment
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field
3+ years experience in automotive, motorsports, aerospace, or similar industries
Proficiency in CAD (CATIA or 3 DX) and FEA tools (Hyper Mesh, Abaqus)
Knowledge of part design, materials, and rapid prototyping
Strong modeling skills (solid and surface)
Innovative mindset and multi-project handling ability
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
Passion for motorsports and understanding of vehicle dynamics and aerodynamics
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in relevant fields
