Operations Research Supply Chain Analyst Australian Capital Territory, Australia; Wellington, New Zealand External Title: Operations Research Supply Chain Analyst Location: Remote Australia or New Zealand This is a temporary, part-time role, approximately 20 hours per week. Summary Are you a thoughtful operations research analyst who knows how to put customer happiness first? Do you have strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills with a broad understanding of mathematics and data analysis as applied in supply chain management? If so, you could be the right person for this role. We’re looking for a member of our Data Science and Analytics team to be responsible for formulating and applying mathematical and optimization models to supply and demand chains and related business operations for our customers. Your responsibilities will include collecting and analyzing customer data, identifying challenges within customer systems, understanding methodologies to solve problems, and assisting in project decision-making. Ultimately, you will help in resource allocation, demand and production planning, procurement, logistics, and other supply chain disciplines for our B2 B Saa S implementations. Key Responsibilities Collect and analyze data from customer operation systems to develop data-driven software utilizing mathematical modeling tools. Gather input from customer team members and specialists to solve operational problems. Use statistical analysis to identify trends in customer and market data. Build optimization models to find the best tradeoffs for various business problems. Define data requirements, validate information, and apply statistical tests to develop solutions. Perform tests to ensure model accuracy. Select appropriate tools and modeling techniques for each problem. Collaborate with service professionals to deliver high-value Saa S products. Advise customer leadership on solutions and support decision-making. Travel to customer sites as needed. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, or related field. Experience in supply chain modeling within the manufacturing industry. Experience in the food industry is a plus. Strong analytical, critical thinking, and mathematical skills. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and MS Office skills. Familiarity with at least one mathematical optimization software. Proficiency with SQL databases. Knowledge of Python and data modeling libraries; strong Python skills are a plus.
