0.5FTEPermanentRemuneration as per the PSA Allied Health MECA guidelines (step 11 – 14)We are looking for a registered Occupational Therapist with more than 9 years recent experience to join us for a new exciting occupational therapy role based in the expanding intensive care unit based at Middlemore Hospital. The successful applicant will have experience in an acute medical, surgical and orthopaedic ward or specialist critical care service. Proven ability to pro-actively manage a fast-paced and dynamic workload is required.This role is to address the occupational and functional needs of the patients during acute hospital admission. It includes modelling best practice and actively promoting the occupational therapy role with the inter-professional team. Skills such as manual handling, wheelchair and seating assessment and assessment and implementation of cognitive therapies will be required.In addition, we require the applicant to have experience and be eligible to provide supervision to occupational therapists, rehabilitation assistants and occupational therapy students. Other responsibilities include leading quality and service improvements.We offer funding for professional development opportunities; including the opportunity, where appropriate, to take part in exciting quality improvement and clinical leadership initiatives. In addition, you will have regular supervision and support to continue to develop your knowledge and skills. Essential: Registered with the Occupational Therapy Board of New Zealand Hold a current annual practising certificate Diploma of Occupational Therapy, or Bachelor of Occupational Therapy, or Bachelor of Health Science (Occ Therapy), or overseas equivalent Minimum 9 years post qualification experience (experience in critical care unit would be an advantage) Supervisory experience with students and staff Full, clean New Zealand drivers’ licenceWhat's in it for you?
