Description


The Spark Corporate Relations team is looking for a B2B focused PR professional to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis, commencing March 2023.

We are looking for a self-starter, who loves B2B and technology focused comms but will lift out of the technology to find the bigger story, can think outside the box to develop creative story angles and campaigns, thrives on a challenge, and has a keen eye for identifying and mitigating reputational risk.

About the role

Based in our Auckland head office by Victoria Park, you'll work across a range of internal and external communications within B2B portfolio. You will be focused on business partnering to the B2B part of our business, and working across the range of businesses, products and services that Spark Group offers to our business customers. You'll report to the Corporate Relations Lead Partner for Corporate and Business and work closely with our Corporate Relations B2B Lead and wider business stakeholders to build and protect our reputation and engage our people and stakeholders through effective communications plans.

In this role, you will:

Develop and implement communications that support the Corporate Relations Strategy, specifically focused on the B2B portfolio. This will include identifying suitable stories, developing media releases, briefing documents, Q&As, building relationships with internal and external stakeholders and managing risks and issues.
Develop and foster positive and effective relationships with key internal stakeholders including Spark Tribe Leads and Comms and Marketing leads across Spark's business brands and external stakeholders such as media and industry groups.
Actively seek to identify and understand new developments in your craft and apply them day-to-day.
Support with a range of reactive media enquiries from journalists across Spark's business.

The role offers competitive market remuneration. Spark operates a hybrid working policy, so we are in the office three days a week (or more, if you wish), and work from home for the other two.

About you

We are looking for someone with around 2-3 years' experience in professional communications, preferably with a background in B2B and / or technology in a fast-paced organisation or agency. We would like to find someone with the following attributes:

Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to recognise potential B2B story ideas and develop them
A can-do-attitude; actively seeks feedback and growth opportunities
The ability to foster positive working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders
Highly organised and able to manage different projects simultaneously, working to deadlines with multiple stakeholders
Experience in issues management and media relations
A team player.
