Do you want a career that makes a difference?Health New Zealand - Counties Manukau Radiology is located in South Auckland across Middlemore Hospital, Kidz First Children's Hospital and Manukau Health Park (MHP) and is at the forefront of innovative health care delivery with the New Zealand Public Health Sector.
Middlemore Hospital includes the National Burns Centre and is a major trauma hospital specialising in spinal and plastics.
Our busy department serves a diverse community and is rapidly growing with planned expansion, including new premises at MHP opening in 2026.
Our Radiology department is large and diverse with state of the art medical imaging equipment that includes:13 General x-ray rooms, all with DRA specialist Radiology Theatre service with 3 D O arm imaging and flat panel image intensifiers Five CT scanners performing acute and elective CT scans, including Cardiac CTThree MRI scanners 3 T and 1.5 T MRI scanners (2026 will see a fourth open)We have a lot to offer: Ongoing commitment to professional development and educational opportunities Opportunities to train in specialist modalities A wide variety of work Very supportive team environment Career progression opportunities About the Role This is a full-time (80 hrs/fortnight) shift working position for a New Zealand graduate MIT.
The successful applicant will need to hold an APC in the MIT scope with the New Zealand Medical Radiation Technologist Board.
Imaging across outpatients, emergency, ward and critical care patients you will be provided with an orientation including protocols and equipment training.
You will be expected to interpret referrals and apply your clinical decision-making skills to provide high-quality diagnostic imaging.
About the Team/Service/Location We have opportunities to train in Cath Lab, IR, CT, Theatre, MRI with all specialised MITs working in general x-ray.
The successful candidate will be supported by modality leads, 2 ICs and MIT Team Leader.
The work is across Middlemore Hospital and Kidz First Children's hospital which is in Otahuhu, whilst our outpatient clinics and day surgery centre is located in Manukau, approximately 9km from the hospital campus.
