Nurse Practitioner - Mental Health & Addictions Eastern Bay of Plenty Employment Type: Permanent - 1 FTEHe Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the Role We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join our supportive Mental Health & Addictions service at Te Whatu Ora – Bay of Plenty. In this role, the Nurse Practitioner (NP) will have a population health focus and work across the health sector to meet the needs of Tangata Whaiora and whānau.

The NP will strengthen models of care, while ensuring safe management of those presenting with acute and enduring mental health conditions. Through leadership and consultancy, the NP will promote the delivery of advanced clinical practice, education, research, and quality improvement.

There will be a strong quality focus on nursing practice and professional nursing leadership to ensure the development of staff within Mental Health and Addiction services.

Within this role, you will enable and support the implementation of the Toi Ora systems of care contributing to a whole of system focus on Oranga Hinengaro.

An essential component of this role will be identifying and overcoming barriers to early access for Māori with long term mental health and addiction needs.

As a designated senior nurse, this role will support the health system transformation to achieve the aims of Te Pae Tata (Interim New Zealand Health Plan) and Te Toi Ahorangi.

The Nurse Practitioner is a key member of the Mental Health & Addiction Service Senior Nursing Leadership team and will report to the Nurse Leader of Mental Health and Addiction.

This is a permanent, full-time position and will be based at Community Mental Health in Whakatāne. He Kōrero mōu - About You Ideally you will be an experienced Senior Registered Mental Health Nurse who has a passion for working collaboratively with a wide range of people and services.

Our preferred candidate will be someone who can readily establish effective relationships and be able to draw on these strengths to work in partnership with service users and whānau, colleagues, and a wide range of community services.

To be successful in the role you will have: Recent experience in a range of mental health and addiction nursing settings with significant experience in acute mental health and addiction inpatient setting.

Current professional nursing registration.

NCNZ Endorsement as Nurse Practitioner.

Clinical leadership and/or adult teaching experience.

Full driver’s licence High level of analytical, written, and oral skills Experience working with whānau, Hapū and Iwi.

Proven commitment to the implementation of Te Tiriti o Waitangi in health and a strong understanding of equity from a Te Tiriti o Waitangi perspective.
