Mike Buchanan Plumbing have expert trades people in the Plumbing, Gas Fitting and Drain Laying areas.The Operations Managers role is responsible for managing the operations of the business. The Operations Manager will ensure all work is completed on time and budget and to the highest level of quality.Key Objectives / Outcomes ExpectedThe key objectives for the Operations Manager Role are:Balance workloads, by using staff in the most efficient way, and ensuring work is completed on time.Manage the staff, making sure that all staff perform to expectation and that staff have all the necessary resources to perform their jobs successfully.Communicating effectively with the Managing Director to highlight any potential problems or concerns with staff, workload, quality or client relations.Task analysis where required to ensure safety guidelines are adhered to.Ensure all work is completed on time, to budget and to a high standard of qualityKey TasksThe key tasks for the Operations Manager Role are:Manage staff to ensure optimal labour utilization including planning holidays, callout and illness (alongside Office Manager where required)Schedule jobs with reference to competing project deadlines, staff and equipment availability and communicating with clients about any delays or changes.Assist trades people to solve on the job problems and provide supervision for staff on the job.Ensure all equipment, supplies and machinery is on site ready for installation.Ensure all field staff follow all Health and Safety requirements.Manage Projectsa. Communicate with local authorities regarding inspections and ensure jobs are ready for inspections.b. Inspection of completed work to ensure there are no quality issues or call backs.c. Manage project variations so that clients and the Managing Director are aware and approve of project variations.d. Manage Sub-contractors when requirede. Provide the accounts department with all the necessary invoice and purchasing details.Manage Plant and Propertya. Complete monthly check on all safety equipment to ensure all testing is current.b. Complete monthly check on all testing equipment to ensure all certified / calibrated as required.Do some maintenance / backflow work when necessary.Key Qualities RequiredThe key qualities required for the Operations Manager are:Certifying Plumber / Gasfitter, or very experienced Licensed Plumber / GasfitterAbility to manage details, logistics and costing's.Ability to relate well to staff, customers and suppliersAbility to plan well in advance, as well as make changes at short notice due to weather or illnessAbility to work unsupervised and provide supervision to all tradesman and apprentices.Key Performance IndicatorsQuality - No more than 5 call backs per monthCompletion of projects within time / budget (90%)Own charge out rates (50%)RemunerationAnnual Salary $80,000 - $100,000 based on experience.Vehicle for work use (including to and from work)Please send your CV, Covering Letter (with a photo) to mailto:****** persons with the right to work in NZ may apply.Apply online for this role or contact Shannon Thomson for more information.
