Johnsons Cottage is a family owned orchard that has been growing fruit for over 100 years - we grow great fruit and take care of our staff : )
Roxburgh is a cool little town only a couple of hours away from Queenstown, Dunedin, Invercargill and the coast. If you enjoy the outdoors, fancy having cycling, fishing, walking, and Central Otago on your doorstep, then this is the place for you. The Catlins aren't far away either if you feel like having a sea visit and checking out the wildlife.
Fruit picking is a straightforward job, but you do need to be fit, able, thorough, happy to work as a team, and able to take directions. It does involve using an orchard ladder, so you need to be comfortable with climbing this and obviously with working outside. The job is around 40 hours a week, but is weather dependent and may involve weekends.
You will be picking apricots and we also have plums, peaches, and nectarines, so if you would like to stay on a little longer, then we can possibly find something for you to do. Otherwise, the role will go from now for 3-4 weeks.
*Applicants must be a New Zealand citizen or resident, or hold a current WH Visa for the duration of the work period.
