Discover a career with purpose at MBIE * Exciting opportunity to drive the development of a body of knowledge * Salary range: $132,417 - $160,472 + Kiwisaver + Employee Wellness Benefit * Wellington based, fixed term (or secondment) opportunity to 31 December 2024 Tenei turanga - About the Role: G-REG is entering a new phase and is seeking to lift the understanding and application of regulatory practice through focusing on gathering and developing a body of knowledge for regulators. This will include the development of best practice tools, frameworks, guidance and case studies. The Principal Advisor will lead the design, development and delivery of the knowledge work programme; and will be responsible for working with the sector to gather existing artefacts, identify gaps and manage the process for developing a robust knowledge base. They will also have a role in maintaining our active regulatory community, including managing and facilitating G-REG's Peer Advisory activities. The Principal Advisor will provide strategic and intellectual leadership to support G-REG's strategic direction, and from time to time, act for the Director G-REG. Nga pukenga me nga wheako e hiahiatia ana - Skills and Experience Required * Significant expertise in regulatory practice, policy and/or design * Provide intellectual leadership by bringing new ideas and knowledge to discussions and lead strategic conversations in the area of regulatory practice * Ability to quickly identify ways of thinking about a problem or issue and possible pathways forward * Excellent writing skills, that can be applied to the development of frameworks, tools, guidance and case studies * Excellent relationship management skills, with the ability to communicate appropriately and effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the public service * Build partnerships and works collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives * Critically synthesise information from a wide variety of domains, and apply advanced frameworks and methods of analysis to shape the knowledge base * Contribute to the performance of the team through providing peer review, quality assurance and mentoring, including for projects and tasks that the Principal Advisor is not leading Etahi korero mo MBIE - About MBIE: MBIE's goal is to create a resilient and high-performing economy that delivers real and ongoing quality of life for all New Zealanders.
