Volunteer Gardener – Community Base Kāpiti The Volunteer Gardener helps maintain the trees, shrubs, and gardens surrounding the Mary Potter Hospice Kāpiti Community Base. Role Responsibilities This role is to maintain the gardens to a high standard at our Mary Potter Hospice Community Base in Kāpiti. The garden is beautifully surrounded by trees and shrubs. Your tasks will include: General gardening including tidying and weeding. Keeping the green spaces and walkways clear of debris and litter. Monitoring and maintaining the health of all plants. We currently have two vacancies. Person Requirements Interest in gardening and a general understanding of plants and weeds. Self–motivated and able to work unsupervised. Reliable and responsible. Will need to provide own gardening tools. Solid understanding of health and safety rules and legislation. Note: The Kāpiti Lions Club is responsible for the trimming, pruning, and using a leaf blower on site. Commitment2 – 3 hours per fortnight or as required.
