About the Role We have an outstanding opportunity for permanent full-time or part-time role(s) available in our Te Puaruruhau department within Starship Children’s Health, starting in June 2025. The primary purpose of the role is to provide specialist assessment, diagnosis and management of patients in an inpatient/ day patient /clinic setting and to collaborate in the multi-disciplinary and multi-agency processes which are central to effective child protection practice. You will be involved in the provision of clinical care, teaching and research, administration, service delivery and professional development. Paediatricians in Te Puaruruhau provide a wide range of health-based child protection services to tamariki, rangatahi, and their whānau from throughout metropolitan Auckland and Aotearoa. This includes acute inpatient and outpatient assessments, 24/7 after-hours call, services to tamariki and rangatahi engaged in statutory child protection processes (Gateway assessments), participation in Family Group Conferences and legal proceedings, peer review, teaching, quality-improvement and research. If it is necessary, further training and skilled supervision can be provided in our dynamic, experienced and highly supportive multi-disciplinary and multi-agency team.
