Nau mai, haere mai ki Te Upoko o Te Ika Location: Wairarapa Hospital Service: People and Capability Contract: Fixed term to Dec 2025 Salary: As per PSA Admin collective agreement, & dependant on experience Vacancy Ref # 6533324 Korero mo te turanga - About the role The People and Capability & Project Support will be a key member of the People and Capability team assisting in the delivery of consistent, high quality people and capability advice and support to managers and business units within Te Whatu Ora Wairarapa.

This is a new fixed term role (to December 2025) which has been developed primarily to support the Holidays Act (HA) Rectification and Remediation (R&R) project.

In addition this role will support other project work and the wider P&C team.

This will be a varied role, either supporting the project directly, or by covering one of the Advisory Team while they support project functions.

Mo to matou ropu - About our team The P&C Team supports continuous improvement and organisational performance, along with payroll delivery.

Mou - About you We are looking an individual who has an interest in working toward a career in the People and Capability / Payroll sphere.

Someone who already has experience in a generalist P&C, Payroll or Administrative role.

Ideally you will have an understanding of NZ Employment law and application of MECA conditions in a unionised workplace, and at least basic knowledge of the Holidays Act and payroll processes.

We are looking for a person who agile, and capable of adapting to meet the changing demands and priorities of project work.

At times will be expected to be able to take the initiative and prioritize your own work, whereas at other times you will be expected to follow the direction in line with the evolving needs of the service.

You will be actioned orientated, has an eye for detail, strong numeracy skills and some experience working with data, a proven ability to juggle a number of tasks at any one time and a drive to ensure we deliver exceptional service to our managers and a great experience to our people then we would like to hear from you.

This role is 40 hours per week (but this is flexible so we would still like to hear from you if you are only able to work part-time) and is based at our Masterton Hospital campus.
