We're looking for a Principal Development Planner to join our Development Planning team within Network Operations Planning.
This permanent role offers the opportunity to provide senior specialist technical transport input into development planning proposals and influence how Auckland grows and moves.
In this role, you'll: Provide comprehensive transport specialist input on complex resource consent applications, covering all modes, parking, street design, capacity assessment and local context review.
Lead AT's involvement in development planning processes, including resource consents, pre‐application and fast-track assessments.
Develop and maintain effective relationships with Auckland Council, developers, internal and external stakeholders.
Provide technical leadership, quality assurance, coaching and mentoring to support the development of less experienced team members sharing knowledge and expertise.
What will you bring? As a Principal Development Planner, you'll bring extensive experience working in complex, performance‐driven environments and the ability to influence outcomes across multiple stakeholders.
You'll also bring: A relevant tertiary qualification in Transport Planning and/or Transport Engineering, or a similar discipline.
Significant breadth and depth of experience in land development, urban planning and/or transport engineering.
Strong working knowledge of RMA processes and development planning requirements.
Experience preparing or reviewing complex development proposals, including Integrated Transport Assessments (desirable).
Proven ability to provide technical leadership, quality assurance and coaching, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
