Plimmerton School is a large Y1-8 primary school of around 475 ākonga with roll growth predicted from a planned housing development within the school zone. Our close proximity to the city of Wellington, and to Porirua, means we have all the advantages of city life, whilst retaining our own coastal community spirit.
We are active members of the Northern Porirua Kāhui Ako and enjoy a close association with Hongoeka Marae.
Our ākonga are engaged learners who aim high and show respect for each other and their school. Our experienced and committed kaiako work collaboratively to achieve success in all areas and create an inclusive environment for all ākonga.
We are looking for a confident, organised leader who is approachable and empathetic, who has mana and thrives on enhancing the mana of others.
You will have good knowledge of the curriculum and current pedagogical practice and will always have tamariki at the heart of your decision making.
You will be committed to Ngā tikanga Māori and the advancement of Te Reo Māori in our school. You will be culturally responsive and inclusive and seek ways of enhancing the school’s unique connection with Hongoeka Marae.
Drawing from a range of leadership skills, you will bring excellent communication and people skills, with a strong sense of integrity to walk alongside staff and the community in leading our strategic direction.
