About the Whangarei Team
Our team is like a whānau, join ourclose-knit, fun,andlaidback teamat Whangarei Clinic who are extremely passionate about healthcare!
We have a NEW clinic that has access to excellent rehab facilities and is within easy walking distance of cafes and shops.
Our team currently consists of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, an Exercise Consultant, and our amazing Clinic Administrator.
There are many opportunities to contribute your expertise by taking on additional roles such as Contract Lead, Hauora Connect local champion, H&S Committee member, Supervisor, etc. One of our team members is a Team Leader.
You will be part of a team that has achieved some great things in the equity space. We continue to increase the cultural capability of the team and build new networks in the community with Māorihealth providers and local iwi.
About the Mahi (role)
Due to the increasing demand for psychological services, we have aunique and exciting opportunityavailable in our brand new Whangarei clinic for a Psychologist.
This is a part-time, 20 hours per week role with the possibility of increasing to full-time as your caseload grows. We can offer you flexibility of work hours to suit your lifestyle.
You will be supported by the Clinic Manager and be a valued member of our team.
We have anexperienced interdisciplinary team with a vision of growth within the region.
You will work within the pain management and training for independence services supporting adiverse range of clients across the lifespan of their injuries and clinical presentations, such as persistent pain, adjustment to physical injury, anxiety, low mood, and trauma.
The role involves completing psychological assessments, providing evidence-based psychological input, and communicating with the team tohelp our clients make the most out of their lives.
Key Tasks:
Carryout thoroughassessments and make recommendations with sound clinical reasoning
Provide written and verbal summaries of assessments, with clear treatment goals and rationales
Provide effective psychology treatment to TBI Health clients
Collaborate with members of the MDT
Responsible for ensuring all contract clinical reports and referrer letters are completed at an acceptable standard within contracted timeframes
Attending meetings and training

About You
This is a clinical role, therefore you must have a bachelor's qualification in Psychology.
You will be a qualified Psychologist with a minimum of two years experience working in healthcare.
Substantial orientation, training, and support will be provided.
To be successful in this role you will have:
Relevant qualification in Psychology, and current registration with the New Zealand Psychologists Board as a Psychologist
Current Annual Practicing Certificate, Full Professional Body Membership and Full Indemnity Insurance
Excellent communication skills with clients and colleagues
Ability to work well in a multi-disciplinary team
Compassion, respect for diversity, and a clear sense of values and ethics are key
Highly organised and efficient time-management skills
Comply with quality standards including accurate and timely note keeping
Ability to work with a variety of contracts and clients
Interest in professional development and upskilling
