Our client, A SINGH & Y SINGH is seeking an experienced Fruit Quality Inspector to join to join their team.
Tasks Include:
• Examine crops and farm produce to detect quality issues and provide recommendations to farmer/farm manager to improve yield quality and quantity.
• Collect samples of agricultural produce for testing and assessment.
• Conduct detailed inspections of produce, assessing quality, size, colour, maturity, and overall condition using visual examination and appropriate tools to ensure compliance with buyer needs.
• Evaluate, weigh, and measure produce to assign grades based on established size, appearance, and quality standards.
• Identify defects in produce, determine their causes, and recommend corrective and preventive measures.
• Testing soil, water, and produce samples to assess contamination levels, pesticide residues, use of chemicals, fertilizers and overall product quality to ensure adherence to safety regulations and industry best practices.
• Collaborate with management to develop and implement quality control measures to improve production processes.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits of farm operations to identify potential quality and safety issues and oversee quality assurance procedures to ensure compliance with regulations.
• Ensure adherence to hygiene standards and food safety requirements at storage, processing, and packaging sites, as well as in transport vehicles.
• Advise and train farm workers on the economic impact of disease control measures and the health risks associated with contamination.
• Enforce compliance with quarantine, food safety, quality regulations, government standards, and occupational health and safety (OH&S) in all farm areas.
• Maintain detailed records of quality assurance activities, including inspection reports, test results, and corrective actions taken.
• Keeping up to date with industry trends, advancements in quality control methods, and regulatory changes to enhance farm quality assurance practices.
Qualifications and Requirements
• A Diploma level qualification in Horticulture
• Recent 1 year of relevant experience working as a Fruit Quality Inspector in last five years.
• Ability to work independently and without supervision.
• Ability to problem solve and have critical thinking skills.
• Must have a keen eye for details with ability to pick smallest imperfections.
• Excellent oral communication skills.
