We are now seeking a Manager Service Network Development in our Public Transport & Active Modes team.

The Service Network Development Manager will provide strategic leadership in the planning and development of Auckland's public transport (PT) service network, providing day-to-day leadership, direction and management for the Service Network Development team.

Key tasks will include: Provide leadership to the Service Network Development Team and contribute to the wider leadership of the Group, planning, and development.

Leadership across Transport Services network and service design and planning at a regional and national level.

Develop key strategic public transport initiatives including First & Final Leg programme and City Centre Bus Plan, coordinating AT Departments, industry, service suppliers and external stakeholders.

Lead and direct the team in the setting of PT objectives, outcomes and targets for the Regional Public Transport Plan (RPTP) and associated plans.

Provision of strategy and policy guidance for PT services design, planning, and development.

Continuous review of annual, three and ten year forward planning working with the mode Service Managers.

Forecast planning of PT network and service demand and capacity modelling with intervention strategies.

Leading public and stakeholder consultation on PT network changes.

Identity emerging technologies and opportunities to introduce them onto the public transport network.

A tertiary qualification is required in a related discipline5 years' experience in a strategic planning of public transport, transport and/or travel solutions, including;7 years' experience in team and staff management in a political or complex organisation; Experience in public transport service planning and design; Confident and articulate public speaker Passionate about driving change and increasing public transport ridership; Experience in market and customer research; Business growth and development through service and customer service continuous improvement through performance management; Senior management accountability for a significant customer focused business; and Has an understanding and appreciation of the workings and functions of local government.
