Put simply, sustainability is what we do.We are looking for a Waste Minimisation Coordinator to joinour team at Waste Management NZ and play a pivotal role in reducing waste andenhancing our environmental efforts!The roleReporting to the Operations Manager, you will be the drivingforce behind our local sustainability initiatives, providing an essential linkbetween the Dunedin branch and the university property services team. Your roleis crucial in coordinating waste management activities, identifying improvementopportunities, and promoting waste education on campus.Key Responsibilities:First Point of Contact: You will be the go-toperson for our customers, ensuring their waste management needs are metefficiently and professionally.Waste and Recycling Coordination: Coordinate andmonitor all waste and recycling collections, ensuring we meet our contractualrequirements.Minimisation Initiatives: Oversee wasteminimization efforts, including innovative strategies like food wastediversion.Contamination Management: Keep a close eye oncontamination levels and address service issues or damages promptly.Student and Volunteer Engagement: Recruit andmanage student and volunteer resources for events like student clean-up days.Reporting: Ensure that monthly reports andupdates are delivered and provide input to the governance group.Waste Audits: Conduct waste audits tocontinually improve our waste management practices.Bin Maintenance: Keep on-site bins in topcondition to support efficient waste management.About youTo be successful in this role you will have:Relevant tertiary/diploma and/or 2-3 years ofexperience in Waste management/resource recovery would be advantageous.Ability to work independently as well as in a team.Strong stakeholder management and strategicadvice.Excellent communication and presentation skills.Moderate project management experience.Proficient in Microsoft Office.Interpersonal and persuasive skills.Valid driver's license.In returnPermanent Full-Time PositionCompetitive Salary PackageOngoing Training: We invest in your growth andoffer continuous training and skill enhancement.Professional Development: Unlock opportunitiesto advance your career and expand your skills.Rewarding Career Path: Be part of a team that'smaking a real difference in our local community and beyond.This role might suit either a recent graduate embarking upon a career in sustainability or operations.
