We currently have a fantastic opportunity for Jr Sous Chef to join our team to create memorable and unique experiences.

About the Role Reporting to the Executive Chef and Sous Chef, you will have a pivotal leadership role in the Rosewood Matakauri Culinary team.

This is a hands-on position.

Responsibilities include: Creative input with menu development and dish presentation Ensuring adequacy of supplies at cooking stations Training, developing and supporting junior chefs Optimising the cooking process with attention to speed and quality Ensure exceptional hygiene practices are maintained Preparing ingredients that should be frequently available Managing the kitchen brigade and standards in the absence of the Sous Chef About You The successful candidate will be agile, have a can do attitude, work well in a high pressure environment and seek to stretch their career.

In addition, the successful candidate will have: At least 2 years' relevant experience, ideally within a 4-5 star or luxury establishment Relevant Culinary Qualifications Exceptional cooking techniques and meticulous processes An interest in actively seeking local produce The agility to think on your feet as we have many daily guest requests and menu changes Good time management, excellent communication skills and the ability to multitask Be a team player and be able to drive the team A hands-on Chef who is involved with the daily operation and delivery of memorable experiences Core to the success of the individual in this role is that their personal values are aligned with those of Rosewood Hotels: Ownership, Passionate, Transparent, Innovative and Collaborative.
