Job Description Job Title: Manager Systems AuditRole type: Permanent, full-timeLocation: Wellington CitySalary range: $109,626 to $148,318 depending on skills and experience Korero mo te Turanga - About the Role As the Manager Systems Audit within New Zealand Food Safety, you will be responsible for leading the Systems Audit team to assure the integrity, safety and reputation of New Zealand's primary products, including food.You will be ensuring a systems audit regime is in place that supports domestic food safety system outcomes, leading the team engagement action planning process, and enabling market access for New Zealand's primary products. You will be ensuring the maintenance and delivery of the systems audit regime that assures the effectiveness and integrity of MPI's intervention and official assurance programmes. Mou - About You A knowledge of organisational auditing principles, standards, processes will be key to this role, as will an understanding of current trends in the international and domestic regulatory environments - particularly for animal welfare, biosecurity and food. You will also have knowledge and understanding of the theory of trade including the working of international trading arrangements.You will likely also have a relevant tertiary qualification e.g. horticultural or biological sciences; economics; agricultural, resource management; law; public policy; or a related discipline in management or public policy.You will also contribute to the assurance of integrity, safety and reputation of New Zealand's primary products, including food, by: Managing an audit programme that determines the effectiveness of the New Zealand Food Safety intervention model and decision-making policies (regulatory and non-regulatory) including a fit for purpose risk management frameworkLeading the team who provided intelligence on trends and significant issues occurring in stakeholder industries or accredited agencies to the relevant initiator of specific official assurance programmesPreparing, assessing, responding to, and reporting any assigned instances of critical non-complianceReporting on collated analysis and audit findings and presenting any resulting trend information to the standard setters, informing further development and review of standardsParticipating and presenting at industry working groups and MPI-sponsored meetings/workshops You do not need to meet all of the role requirements to apply. Mo to matou Ropu - About the Team The Systems Audit Team are accountable for the development and delivery of the Systems Audit Programme. We undertake audits and sector analyses within this programme that span production, processing and export of food and food-related products, live animals and germplasm, overarching programmes such as organics and border processes, animal welfare and market access specific requirements.
